Biographie
Diplômé de l’Académie royale des beaux-arts de Gand en 1986, Frits Standaert partage son temps entre la réalisation, l’animation, la production et l’enseignement. Depuis 2003, il est chargé de cours et responsable du département animation au RITCS (School of Arts, Bruxelles). Il a réalisé de nombreux spots publicitaires et films de commande, mais également des courts métrages sélectionnés et couronnés dans de nombreux festivals. Depuis 2011, il a réalisé plusieurs films jeune public produit par Les Films du Nord et La Boîte,… Productions :
Rumeurs (2011), Compte les moutons (2015), L’Humble tailleur de pierre (2018), La Cerise sur le gâteau (2019), Les Biscuits de mamy (2022).
Biography
Frits Standaert studied animation at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent, Belgium. He started his career in advertising and gradually shifted his focus towards directing short animated films, some of which got greatly awarded at numerous festivals. He is currently living and working in Ghent. He teaches animation at the RITS School of Arts in Brussels and focusses his artistic works on short films for children : « Rumours » (2011), « Counting Sheep » (2015), « The Stonemason’s Dream » (2018), « The Cherry on Top » (2019), « Granny’s Cookies » (2022).
